After entering winter, the temperature drops rapidly, especially in the northern regions, valves often freeze. If it is not dealt with at this time, the pipeline is prone to failure, especially in some high-risk conditions, and accidents may also occur. Therefore, antifreeze and maintenance of valves are very important.
Prepare the required tools: insulation cotton, iron wire, pliers, utility knife, and an effective gas alarm in the gas area. According to the size of the valve, use a utility knife to cut suitable insulation cotton, and then use a vise to cut the iron wire that needs to be bundled. When wrapping the insulation cotton, tear the insulation cotton a little so that it can bypass the valve handle and wrap the valve body better. After wrapping the insulation cotton, fix it with wire.
The correct way is to close the valve, thaw the valve with steam or hot water, and then open the valve. If the valve is not used for a long time, the medium in the pipeline should be completely removed to prevent the pipeline and valve from freezing.
According to different winter characteristics, combined with the actual situation of the project, formulate antifreeze measures for boilers, pressure vessels, pressure pipes and their auxiliary valves, and safety relief devices in winter. For parts that are prone to frost cracks, daily inspections should be intensified. Pay close attention to the sudden sharp drop in temperature, take insulation and countermeasures in advance, and use insulation materials to strengthen the insulation of the device.
The steam pipes should be inspected for drainage, and at the same time, the drain valves and pipes should be kept warm; the pouring pipes of the chemical system need to be kept warm; boilers, pressure vessels, etc.
It should be noted that if the valve is frozen and cracked, the valve that does not switch can not be switched hard, and it needs to be replaced with a new valve urgently.
If the ice in the pipe has not melted, you can replace the valve and then pour boiling water into the pipe to melt it, or grill it with a blowtorch until it melts. It is the obligation and responsibility of every enterprise to ensure safe production.
